Mission Statement of the Dallas Athletic Rugby Club
The Dallas Athletic Rugby Club endeavors to play, develop, support, and promote the sport of rugby for all age groups. DARC will assist players in reaching their full potential both on and off the field. DARC strives to teach the values and traditions of rugby as well as develop a functioning partnership with the community. This mission, though never complete, holds us close to the values and principals upon which the club was founded.
Members pay an annual fee of $210, which covers state and national registration, team jersey, team equipment, and fields. Additionally, team members are responsible for providing all travel expenses, personal equipment (including shorts, socks, shoes, and mouthpiece), and home match fees. Team merchandise is available for sale throughout the year.
History of the Club
DARC was formed in the late 1990s through a merger of two older teams: Dallas Our Gang and the Dallas Blues. Since then it has performed very well in Division III of the Texas Rugby Union, often qualifying for the playoffs.
Since its inception, DARC Rugby has benefited from excellent leaders, both on the field and off.
